Boise National Forest

The Boise National Forest is 2,612,000 acres and located north and east of Boise. The forest has six offices: the supervisor's office in Boise, and ranger district offices in Mountain Home, Idaho City, Cascade, Lowman and Emmett.

This year-round escape from the city is a haven for residents and visitors seeking water-based activities, hunting, scenic driving and motorized and non-motorized trail opportunities. Visitors can also take advantage of staying at one of the many cabin rentals on the forest.

Our display will focus on safe campfires and how to prevent wildfires. There will also be Smokey Bear activities for children.

Citizens for an Open Greenbelt COG is a grassroots advocacy group dedicated to supporting the stated goal of the Boise River Greenbelt: to provide continuous open space along both sides of the river for non-motorized, mixed use for the citizens of Idaho. COG's current initative is to open the Bike Path in Riverside Village, Garden City to bicycles, as well as pedestrians, as these public trust lands were mandated to be by the state of Idaho over 30 years ago.

Gem State Disc Golfers The Gem State Disc Golfers (GSDG) is a nonprofit sports organization dedicated to the development, promotion, and enhancement of disc golf in the state of Idaho. GSDG members worked with the city of Boise to install the first public disc golf course in the state. We are continuing this relationship to help provide additional courses, due to the overwhelming popularity of the sport. GSDG has provided disc golf classes for area high schools, elementary schools, and the Parks & Recreation Department. The Idaho Angler/Casting for Recovery

Idaho Angler - Our mission is to enhance the fly fishing experience of our friends and customers, to bring fly fishing fun to everyone, and to promote conservation of our fish and fishing waters.

Casting for Recovery is a national non-profit support and educational program for women who have or have had breast cancer. We provide an opportunity for women whose lives have been profoundly affected by the disease to gather in a beautiful, natural setting and learn fly-fishing, "a sport for life." Just as importantly, we offer an opportunity to meet new friends and have fun. Our weekend retreats incorporate counseling, educational services and the sport of fly-fishing to promote mental and physical healing. Founded in 1996, Casting for Recovery has been offering free retreats across the country. We rely on local volunteers and organizations to support our community based retreats.

Idaho Mountain Recreation Idaho Mountain Recreation (IMR) is an outdoor club founded in Boise in January 2007.  IMR trained volunteers lead activities such as hiking, backpacking, camping, snowshoeing, XC skiing, climbing, and biking trips.  More than an outings club, IMR helps people enjoy the outdoors safely and responsibly by offering a variety of regularly scheduled training classes.  Count on a group of friends with similar experience levels to join you in the outdoors.  IMR also holds monthly meetings on a range of topics of interest to outdoor enthusiasts.  www.idahomountainrec.org
Idaho Parks and Recreation The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation manages 30 state parks. They also run the registration program for snowmobiles, boats and off-highway vehicles. Money from registrations and other sources goes to develop and maintain trails, facilities and programs statewide for the people who use those vehicles. The agency manages a series of outdoor recreation grant programs that provide facilities and services to a wide variety of recreationists and the local governmental and nongovernmental organizations that serve them.

Idaho Tennis Association Idaho Tennis Association (IdTA) heads the Idaho District of the Intermountain Tennis Association (ITA), a section of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), the national governing body for the sport of tennis in the United States. IdTA is a nonprofit organization with more than 4,100 members in Southern Idaho. We coordinate and promote Adult Leagues, Tennis 101 (for families, Tennis is Elementary (for grade-school children) and Junior Team Tennis (for junior players). We also provide support and training for Community Tennis Associations throughout our District. IdTA invests 100 percent of its proceeds to carry out the USTA's mission "to promote and develop the growth of tennis" from the grassroots levels in the Gem State. Wings Center Wings is a children's fitness, education and entertainment organization teaching swimming, tumbling, gymnastics, cheerleading, motor development, rock climbing, and developmental preschool.  Plan Kid indoor playground, Boise Rock Gym, Club Kid childcare and Camps are also found within the Wings Center.  Providing team building, fundraising, and special events for the Treasure Valley Community is another component of Wings.  The overarching motivation of Wings is the creation of a safe place for children of all ages and stages to grow physically, emotionally and socially.
